Trip overview

Our signature Kilimanjaro climb takes the Machame route over seven days, the sweet spot between cost and summit success — around 90% of our climbers reach Uhuru Peak on this itinerary. You traverse five climate zones, tackle the dramatic Barranco Wall and follow a 'climb high, sleep low' profile that gives your body the best possible shot at adapting. KPAP-compliant crews, daily health checks and emergency oxygen are standard on every departure.

Highlights

  • 7-day itinerary ≈ 90% summit success
  • Barranco Wall scramble & Lava Tower acclimatisation
  • Five climate zones from rainforest to glacier

Questions about this trip

Do I need climbing experience for Kilimanjaro?

No technical skill is needed — it is a long, high walk. What matters is cardiovascular fitness and patience with the slow 'pole pole' pace that lets you acclimatise.

What is your summit success rate?

Around 90% on our 7-day routes and roughly 95% on the 8-day Lemosho, thanks to longer acclimatisation, daily oxygen-saturation checks and experienced guides who set the pace.

How are your porters treated?

We are a KPAP-standard operator: fair wages paid in front of a witness, three meals a day, proper sleeping tents and strict weight limits of 20 kg per porter load.

What gear do I need to bring?

Layered clothing, a four-season sleeping bag, broken-in waterproof boots, insulated jacket, gloves, headtorch and trekking poles. We send a full checklist on booking and rent gear in Moshi.
