Sunrise over the Serengeti, then champagne breakfast
A balloon flight is the one splurge almost every guest says was worth it. You are collected from camp around 05:00, watch the envelope inflate in the dark and lift off as the sun clears the horizon. The pilot flies low over the grass to follow game, then climbs for the enormous view of the plains before landing for a linen-tablecloth breakfast with sparkling wine and a flight certificate.
Pick-up 05:00 – 05:30, safety briefing at the launch site, roughly one hour of flight covering 10 – 20 km depending on the wind, then breakfast in the bush and a game drive back to camp by mid-morning.
Around USD 599 per person including transfers, breakfast and park concession fees. Balloons carry a limited number of passengers and sell out weeks ahead in high season, so we book at the same time as your camps.
Minimum age 7 and the ability to climb into the basket unaided. Baskets are shared, cameras are welcome, and flights are cancelled only for wind or storm — in which case you are refunded in full.
