About Ol Doinyo Lengai
The climb begins around midnight so you reach the summit at dawn before the sun hits the black ash slopes. There is no path — you climb steep, loose volcanic scree with gradients up to 45 degrees. Not suitable for beginners, but it is one of the most extraordinary walks in Africa.
